Lansing, MI – Movie theaters and other businesses can reopen and there is ease on limits public gatherings. Governor Gretchen Whitmer said this can take place through major executive orders on Friday, September 26th. As a result, these new changes will revive aspects of Michigan’s economy. In turn, this allows more people to come together for some events. Therefore, these include receptions and funeral during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Movie Theaters and Other Venues
Now, public spaces such as movie theaters, performance venues, arcades, bingo halls, bowling centers, and more will reopen on October 9th. This information is according to Governor Whitmer’s office. As a result, businesses must keep records of those people entering their facilities in case of an outbreak. Later, they should expect a phone call regarding their experience. Erik Gubert, marketing director for MJR Digital Cinemas, said they ready to open on October 9th.
The MJR Digital Cinemas is a 10-theater chain and they will show a combination of classic films and movies. In addition, other theaters will show films and movies around the country. “Tenet” and “New Mutants” are films they are currently showing.
Masks, Safety Protocols
Customers will wear masks in theaters and in the lobby area. Furthermore, the exceptions now include when patrons are eating and drinking.
